I’ve spent a few happy minutes watching Keyvan transfer my blog from blogger to my very own website. I’d like to lay claim to the move but really can’t, especially as he bravely struggled on despite a horrible cold and put me and my idle ways to shame. I am no closer to becoming a techie genius than before!
Anyway the long and short of it is that this is where you will find me, my dreams, my rants, the mundane aspects of my life - all here at dreaming freedom!

Today on the cycle ride to work I saw a lollipop lady weeding a council flower bed and felt a sudden surge of hope for and optimism in the human race.
Later after the necessary daily dose of Daria, internet and tinned food I went to see Children of Men with Will, Ella and young Matthew. The film is definitely worth a viewing; it’s very dark and apocalyptic yet balanced on the dawn of a new age with a steady drip feed of hope keeping you optimistic. A good solid British film - dark but necessary. Lots of Guantanamo Bay/concentration camp style horror with a realistic background feel to it. Go see it if you haven’t already.
Have finally managed to enroll on photography course in London - Keyvan will have some stiff competition soon

The Indian summer continues… interspersed with rain only when washing is hung out to dry! I’ve have spent a healthy weekend cycling and playing badminton with only the odd glass of wine to wash it down with it. I figure if it’s organic wine then it must be kind of healthy too! Keyvan headed back to London after he had encouraged me with this healthy living stuff and I met up with Rumi for tea and chat. She too is off to London in search of the bright lights and the brighter living!
I am reading up on ontological arguments and watching Daria… this is the life!
I’m planning to go to the Art Not Oil exhibition at Norwich Cathedral this coming week. Visit www.artnotoil.org.uk for more info on what this is all about.

Having a relaxing weekend in London. Have stayed in bed all day reading The Philosophy Gym by Stephen Law. It’s well worth reading if you’re interested in philosophy made easy.
Another busy week behind me! I went to the Norwich Stop the War public meeting on Thursday evening. There was quite a good turn out and the group covered the costs of Blackfriars Hall and travel costs of the speakers - which just shows how generous people are. Among the speakers was Craig Murray who spoke very well and very disturbingly about human rights abuses in Uzbekistan (where he was the British Ambassador). He explained about how random peasants were being arrested, tortured and made to confess to being members of Al-Qaeda. Why? Because the region is crucial for the development of a massive gas pipeline and it ain’t ethical but support for the dictatorship ensures western gas interests! The persecution of imaginary Al-Qaeda members is clearly encouraged and perhaps even suggested by the west. It certainly serves their agenda if the country is rife with dangerous Al-Qaeda terrorists and they have to support the oppressive but gas-pipeline supporting dictatorship. Murray’s reports on human rights abuses sent to London were largely ignored but he did get a reply that commented that he was perhaps ‘over focused on human rights’! He’s written a book about the whole thing. You can find out about him at: www.craigmurray.org.uk.

Local subvertising rather well done.
I’ve been so busy working that there has been no time for blogging. (I hear you all sighing with disappointment) But after seeing the local billboards I felt inspired to share Norwich political art with you.
The weekend has been sunny and rather nice. Went to a graffiti jam yesterday near Anglia Square. It’s still going on today, so if you fancy checking out the art then head in that direction. Norwich’s budding social centre had a tea stall there with rather an impressive array of nosh including the all important vegan chocolate cake.
Planned to go cycling on this gorgeous sunny day, but find I have tons of work to do, so fun might have to be put on hold.

I’ve now spent many happy days at work. The summer holiday is fading into the background. I enjoyed it but am looking forward to working now. A change is as good as a rest allegedly!
On the naughtier side I’ve been enjoying my bottle of Chianti carefully brought back from Tuscany… and eating at the Thai Dragon on Prince of Wales road. It’s one of Norwich’s best kept secrets (a decent inexpensive restaurant)!

I’ve also spent many happy hours on my website:

Picked up the beautiful new bike that is now mine. It was not as joyful riding it around as I thought it might be but I think I just have to get used to it and then it will bring me oodles of joy. Done lots of hanging out with various people today and as a result now have firefox as my web browser on my laptop and a skype account.
Have just spent many happy hours talking on Skype - VOIP rocks!
Random interview question of the day: Why are manhole covers round?
Any interview questions you’ve come across? Leave a comment!

One of the best things about today was that I brought a shiny new bike. I’m going to pick it up and spend all day riding around on it tomorrow.
One of the worst was that I went to watch Severance at the cinema - horrible film. I really hate horror films even ones purporting to be funny. But it was Ella’s birthday celebrations so I went purely in support of birthday joy! Hanging out in the pubs of Norwich afterwards was lots more fun though!
One of the most interesting things that happened was eating Miso soup and rice balls for the first time. The verdict: interesting but perhaps not something to rush to repeat!
I’ve also been checking out the stuff that’s been happening at the climate change action camp. See www.indymedia.org for more info.

A deliciously lazy day spent watching bad films such as The Wedding Singer, Before Sunrise and The Wonder Days - not all bad but just not very good. Discussed feminism with Susie until late - now feel I should read some Germaine Greer. Reading up on Western philopsophy and reading Jonathan Swift’s poetry before bed. Plan for tomorrow - buy a new bike.
