On Thursday I cycled into town to the Musee de Grenoble – a large art gallery in the centre of Grenoble. A ticket for a student may be €2 but as I have left those days behind I had to pay €5. It was totally worth it. I loved the place so much. It was calm and peaceful (except for the groups of school children), the wooden floors and white walls set the displays of art off very nicely and the views out of the windows were like living pictures. There are plenty of leather sofas and chairs to sit down in and best of all you are allowed to take pictures which really helps if you are studying art and what to quickly note down what you are looking at. I spent several hours looking at the work and even discovered an art library on the second floor that is free to use. I finished up in the cafe/restaurant Le 5 attached to the gallery – where a cafe au lait costs you no more than €1.50.
