The Musée Dauphinois was fantastic. The displays were good and some of information in the permanent displays was in English. But what was really unexpected was the building and garden area. There is the most beautiful tranquil courtyard where you can sit on white chairs and look up at the old walls, the grassy centre and the grapevines and there is also a peaceful terrace area with views over Grenoble. The museum is open Wednesday to Monday except 1st January, 1st May and 25th December. It’s open from 10h to 18h October to May, and 10h to 19h the rest of year and of course best of all admission is free.
