First snow in Cambridge November 2010

The first snow has snown! It was a weekend of white frost and icy breath and apparently the temperature fell to -7.6% at one point.

Cambridge is preparing itself this year and there are to be quad bike snow ploughs at the train station. I just hope they clear the cycle paths – last year it was a nightmare for cyclists as cars zoomed slushily past on cleared roads throwing snow, ice and fear into the cycle paths while cyclists balanced preciously on their bikes amid frozen treacherous black peaks of icy debris.
The rowers on the other hand are hardy types who despite the weather this morning were rowing up and down the river wearing massive gloves and looking pretty cold.
