Tall Tales with Marvellous Mike Gowar

It’s the third day in a row I’ve been to the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology and why not I say. It’s only just reopened – Friday say the first day – some of you may have spotted the new entrance on Downing Street decorated with balloons. Today I was lured there by a storytelling event by none other than Mick Gowar the famous children’s author and poet who wrote one of my favourite poems of all times – Christmas Thank You’s. Little did I know that he works at the Cambridge School of Art (Anglia Ruskin) and is another of UEA’s famous graduates. Albeit famous before he went there. If you fancy studying children’s book illustration think how amazing it would be study under Mick Gowar. If only I could draw I’d contemplate a career change but sadly if any aspect of art agrees with me it’s Pollock all the way.
